Production Control Coordinator

Job Description

Production Planning & Coordination

• Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on customer demand, capacity, and inventory levels
• Coordinate with manufacturing supervisors to ensure production plans are executed efficiently
• Track production progress and resolve schedule conflicts or capacity constraints

ERP & Data Management

• Maintain accurate production, inventory, and routing data within the ERP system
• Generate and analyze ERP reports related to production orders, work-in-process (WIP), inventory usage, and variances
• Ensure bills of materials (BOMs), routings, and lead times are accurate and up to date

Cost Control & Efficiency

• Monitor production efficiency, scrap, rework, and downtime to identify cost reduction opportunities
• Collaborate with operations and finance teams to analyze labor, material, and overhead variances
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on waste reduction, productivity, and cost efficiency

Inventory & Materials Management

• Coordinate material availability to support production schedules without excess inventory
• Assist with inventory cycle counts and root cause analysis of discrepancies
• Work with purchasing to improve material lead times and supplier performance

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 2–4+ years of experience in production control, manufacturing planning, or scheduling
• Hands on experience using ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Epicor, JD Edwards)
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production workflows
