Job Summary:
The Facilities Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, safety, and regulatory compliance of manufacturing facilities and infrastructure. This role leads preventive and predictive maintenance programs, ensures compliance with OSHA, EPA, and NFPA standards, and supports reliable, cost effective plant operations. The Facilities Supervisor manages technicians and contractors while collaborating with engineering, operations, and EHS teams to maintain a safe, efficient manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
Preventive & Predictive Maintenance
- Develop, implement, and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance (PM/PdM) programs for building systems, utilities, and manufacturing support equipment
- Monitor equipment condition, analyze maintenance data, and schedule repairs to minimize downtime and extend asset life
- Ensure maintenance activities are documented accurately in CMMS or ERP systems
Facilities Operations & Manufacturing Support
- Oversee daily facilities operations, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, compressed air, fire protection, and building systems
- Support manufacturing operations by ensuring facility infrastructure meets production and capacity requirements
- Coordinate internal maintenance staff and external contractors to complete work safely, efficiently, and on schedule
Compliance, Safety & Regulatory Oversight
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and NFPA regulations and applicable local, state, and federal requirements
- Lead facility safety programs including LOTO, confined space, fire protection systems, and hazardous material handling
- Support audits, inspections, and regulatory reporting; address findings with corrective action plans
Team Leadership & Performance
- Supervise, train, and develop maintenance and facilities personnel
- Assign work, set priorities, and monitor performance to ensure service levels and safety standards are met
- Promote a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement mindset
Budgeting & Cost Control
- Assist in managing facilities maintenance budgets, forecasting expenses, and controlling costs
- Identify opportunities for cost savings through energy efficiency, reliability improvements, and proactive maintenance
- Track contractor costs, service agreements, and capital improvement requests
Continuous Improvement & Reliability
- Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, efficiency, sustainability, and safety
- Recommend facility upgrades, capital projects, and long term maintenance strategies
- Partner with Engineering and IT teams on facility automation, monitoring systems, and technology improvements
Education and Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Facilities Management, or a related technical field
- 7+ years of facilities or maintenance leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
