Job Description

Position: Roadway Design Engineer - PE
Position Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: $80,000 to $110,000, DOE
Location: Oklahoma City, OK

Job Summary:
Our client, a growing civil engineering firm, is seeking a Roadway Design Engineer to join their Transportation team. In this role, you will play a key part in the planning, design, and construction of roadway infrastructure projects that improve communities across Oklahoma.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead roadway design and infrastructure projects from concept through construction
  • Prepare and modify engineering reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, and design documents
  • Utilize computer-assisted engineering and design software to develop roadway plans and supporting documentation
  • Serve as the on-site project representative and conduct construction site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with contract documents
  • Develop project schedules and coordinate project timelines
  • Supervise, mentor, and support junior engineers and technical staff
  • Collaborate with clients, project teams, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery
  • Maintain compliance with applicable transportation regulations, design standards, and engineering best practices

Education and Certifications:
Oklahoma Professional Engineer (PE) license required.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of roadway engineering experience
  • At least 2 years of project management experience
  • Proficiency with roadway design software, including MicroStation, InRoads, OpenRoads, and Civil 3D
  • Knowledge of Oklahoma transportation regulations and design standards
  • Familiarity with AASHTO Green Book and MUTCD
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines
  • Preferred: enjoys multidisciplinary collaboration and client relationship building, self-motivated, demonstrated leadership and mentoring experience
