Position: Electrical Software Design Engineer
Position Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: 120,000 yearly salary
Location: Tulsa, OK
Travel: 20%, every 2 quarters, up to two weeks overseas

Position Summary
The Electrical Software Design Engineer develops embedded firmware, tests electrical and electronic hardware, and maintains the reliability of the software that operates internal coating robotic equipment. Primary tasks are embedded development in C/C++, and hands-on testing and troubleshooting of electronic equipment.

Reporting Status
The Electrical Software Engineer reports to the Electrical Engineering Manager.

Supervisor Responsibility

Position Responsibilities & Accountabilities
  • Program, test, and troubleshoot embedded software for industrial robotic equipment.
  • Produce documentation, write reports, manuals, specifications, and test procedures.
  • Develop and test computer application software.
  • Troubleshoot faulty electronic components and equipment.
  • Ability to occasionally travel overseas.

Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering from a four-year college or university; and 5+ years of related experience and/or training.
  • Experience with C/C++ for embedded microcontroller targets.
  • Experience with CAN/CANopen communication protocols.
  • Experience testing and troubleshooting electronic systems from board level to system level. This includes both bench testing and field testing.
  • Familiarity with test equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, power supplies, DMMs, etc.). Ability to solder surface mount components.
  • Experience with DC motors and controls.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents and procedures. Strong technical writing skills for generating reports, manuals, specifications, and test procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, or customers.
