Position: Senior Software Design Engineer
Position Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: Up to $120,000 yearly salary
Location: Tulsa, OK

Position Summary
The Senior Software Design Engineer develops embedded firmware in C/C++ as part of a team of electrical engineers that designs electronic hardware for industrial pipeline robotics applications.

Reporting Status
The Senior Software Design Engineer reports to the Electrical Engineering Manager.

Supervisor Responsibility
None

Position Responsibilities & Accountabilities
  • Primary tasks are embedded programming in C/C++ and hands-on testing and troubleshooting of electronic equipment.
  • Reports progress, updates schedule milestones, and man-hour estimates for engineering and design tasks.
  • Monitors and advises the Engineering Manager of major project changes.
  • Leads the maintenance of software that operates internal coating robotic equipment.
  • Coordinates testing and troubleshooting of software for industrial robotic equipment and electronic components.
  • Revises documentation, writes reports, manuals, specifications, and test procedures.
  • Develops and tests computer application software.
  • Mentors less experienced software engineers.
  • Has the ability to occasionally travel overseas.

Qualification Requirements

  • Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering from a four-year college or university; and 8+ years of related experience and/or training.
  • Experience with C/C++ for embedded microcontroller targets.
  • Experience with CAN/CANopen communication protocols.
  • Experience testing and troubleshooting electronic systems from board to system level, including bench and field testing.
  • Familiarity with test equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, power supplies, DMMs, etc.). Ability to solder surface mount components.
  • Experience with DC motors and controls.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents and procedures. Strong technical writing skills for generating reports, manuals, specifications, and test procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, or customers.
