Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Systems Engineer to lead our IT infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in systems engineering, with expertise in Windows Server administration, VMware, cloud-based email platforms, and enterprise-level storage solutions. This role will focus on maintaining and optimizing the district’s IT systems, leading complex support initiatives, and ensuring the seamless operation of our infrastructure to meet the needs of a large-scale environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Systems Administration: Manage and support Windows Server environments, including patch management, Active Directory (AD), Group Policy, DHCP, and DNS.
- Virtualization: Deploy, configure, and manage VMware environments to meet district virtualization needs.
- Storage Management: Oversee enterprise-level storage solutions, with a focus on Pure Storage.
- Cloud Services Management: Administer cloud-based email platforms, including Google Workspace and Office 365.
- Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Handle complex technical issues and support tickets, collaborating with external vendors as needed.
- Networking & Infrastructure Management: Ensure robust networking solutions and maintain a deep understanding of infrastructure management concepts.
- Collaboration & Leadership: Lead team efforts to address challenges and enhance service delivery. Provide guidance on best practices and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Project Management: Manage and execute IT infrastructure projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with district goals.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 5+ years in systems engineering or IT infrastructure roles, with a preference for experience in large-scale environments.
- Technical Expertise:
- Expert-level proficiency in Windows Server administration, including patch management, Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, and DNS.
- Advanced experience with VMware deployment, configuration, and management.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Entra services and related technologies.
- Proficiency in managing enterprise-level storage solutions, specifically Pure Storage.
- Strong experience with cloud-based email platforms (Google Workspace and Office 365).
- Troubleshooting: Advanced troubleshooting skills for complex, large-scale environments, with the ability to adapt to evolving challenges.
- Communication & Leadership: Strong communication skills with a focus on team collaboration and customer service.
- Other Requirements: Valid Oklahoma driver’s license and the ability to travel as needed.
