Job Description

Our client is one of the top companies in Oklahoma and they are committed to delivering exceptional services and innovative technology to their internal and external customers. They are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Tier 3 Infrastructure Network Support Specialist to join their dynamic IT team and contribute to the success of their network infrastructure. This role will pay between $35-$50/Hour to start, based on experience. 

Position Overview: As a Tier 3 Infrastructure Network Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing expert-level technical support for complex network infrastructure issues. This role involves troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving high-priority and advanced network problems across a variety of platforms and technologies. You will work closely with other IT teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure network performance, reliability, and security meet company and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and resolution for complex network issues related to routing, switching, security, and connectivity, often requiring hands-on resolution.
  • Manage and support core network infrastructure, including but not limited to routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, and wireless access points.
  • Collaborate with other teams (e.g., server, storage, applications) to identify root causes and ensure end-to-end troubleshooting for critical incidents.
  • Implement and maintain network monitoring tools to proactively identify issues and ensure network availability.
  • Analyze network performance metrics, suggest improvements, and implement solutions to optimize network operations.
  • Work closely with vendors and service providers to escalate and resolve issues as needed.
  • Document troubleshooting processes, configurations, and solutions in knowledge base for future reference and training purposes.
  • Manage network changes, upgrades, and patches while minimizing disruptions to business operations.
  • Participate in on-call support rotations, providing after-hours assistance for critical network incidents as required.
  • Assist with network security initiatives, including firewall management, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPN management.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in network infrastructure management.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in a network engineering or infrastructure support role.
  • Strong expertise in networking protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, OSPF, BGP, VLAN, etc.).
  • Proficiency in managing and configuring enterprise-level network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls).
  • Experience with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of network security principles and best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with various network devices (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, etc.) and virtualized network environments (SDN, NFV).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze complex network issues and provide solutions quickly.
  • Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid environments.
  • Knowledge of network automation and scripting (Python, Ansible, etc.) is a plus.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certifications such as Cisco CCNP, Juniper JNCIP, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent.
  • Experience in network performance tuning and optimization.
  • Familiarity with SD-WAN solutions and network virtualization technologies.

  • Travel may be required for onsite support or vendor meetings.
