Archon Resources is currently looking for a Level 2 Desktop Support Technician to join one of our best clients located in Tulsa, OK. This is a direct hire opportunity.  

Job Overview:

As a Level 2 Desktop Support Technician, you will be an integral part of our IT team, providing advanced technical support for our organization’s desktop computing environment. This role requires a high level of technical proficiency and the ability to handle a range of IT support tasks, including troubleshooting complex issues, managing IT projects, and providing guidance to Level 1 technicians.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced level support for hardware and software issues on desktops, laptops, peripherals, and mobile devices, including troubleshooting network connectivity in LAN/WAN environments.
  • Escalate and follow up on complex IT issues with appropriate internal teams or external vendors, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Assist in the configuration, deployment, and regular maintenance of new and upgraded systems, while ensuring optimal system performance and reliability.
  • Document troubleshooting procedures, maintain a knowledge base, and ensure workstation systems meet customer expectations for reliability and stability.
  • Train and mentor Level 1 support technicians and end-users, enhancing overall team skills and IT knowledge.
  • Actively participate and collaborate in IT projects, including system upgrades and deployments, to improve IT infrastructure.
  • Work closely with IT team members to analyze workstations, operating systems, and application performance, providing updates and status reports to managers and users.
  • Assist in developing and implementing changes to IT policies and infrastructure to optimize performance and meet productivity goals.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills and apply sound techniques in managing and accounting for company assets.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of product applications, customer requirements, and contribute to the improvement and streamlining of support processes.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED is required. A bachelor’s degree or a degree from technical school, military electronic training, including digital electronics is preferred.
  • Candidates will need to a strong understanding of all current Windows operating systems and networking protocols.
  • 5 plus years’ experience and strong diagnosis skills for technical issues.
  • Professional IT Certifications equal to or advanced of CompTIA A+ & Network+.
  • Must be detail oriented, have excellent written and oral communication skills, willingness to learn new equipment, and be dependable.

Environmental Factors and Working Conditions:

The physical environment of this position varies due to cliental location. The position typically requires significant visual effort and involves assignments requiring significant levels of concentration. This position requires lifting weights up to 40 pounds, frequent stooping, kneeling, and bending, use of hand tools, and working with and around electrical equipment up to 70 % of the time each week. Domestic travel is required more than 40 hours per week. This position requires accurate accounting for time and materials. This position is designated as safety-sensitive per the Alcohol and Drug Free policy.
