Position: Contract Financial Data Analyst 
Position Type: Contract - Ad Hoc Project
Compensation: $25+/hr - Depending on Experience 
Location: Remote 

Job Summary:

We’re seeking a contract Financial Data Analyst to support a project-based initiative focused on designing and delivering robust financial reports for a residential construction company. This role is all about transforming raw data into practical, easy-to-use reports that help leadership make smart, informed decisions about job costs, budgeting, forecasting, and operational performance.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of customized financial reports tailored to the needs of a residential construction business
  • Gather and organize data from multiple systems (accounting software, spreadsheets, project management tools)
  • Analyze financial and operational data related to job costing, project budgets, vendor spend, and forecasting
  • Create clean, scalable reports that can be easily refreshed and used by internal teams post-project
  • Collaborate with finance, operations, and project managers to define report requirements and key metrics
  • Present reporting solutions and insights to leadership and revise as needed based on feedback
  • Document report-building methodology for internal knowledge transfer

Education and Certifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Economics, or a related field required
  • Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA, or data analytics certifications) a plus

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a financial or data analyst in a contract or project role
  • Strong background in financial reporting—bonus if you’ve worked with construction or project-based industries
  • Advanced Excel skills required; experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools is a plus
  • Understanding of construction-specific financial concepts like job costing, WIP, and budget-to-actual reporting
  • Excellent communication skills—you’re comfortable gathering requirements and presenting insights
  • Highly organized and self-motivated, with the ability to manage deadlines and priorities independently
